Damien's success continues to grow as his debut release 'The Winners Journey' holds the #1 position on the ARIA Motorola Album Chart for the fifth consecutive week, making it the most number of weeks at #1 for any Australian Idol winner to date. To celebrate, Damien will get become a fully-fledged Aussie as part of the Australia Day celebrations later this month and is set to perform some special 'thank you' gigs in February/March.
In addition to his record breaking time at #1, 'The Winners Journey' has now sold well over four x Platinum since its release last November, with 'Night Of My Life' confirmed as the most played Australian song in the country!!
To mark the occasion, Damien has decided the time is right to become a true blue Australian citizen on January 25! He'll celebrate by performing on January 25 at the Australia Day Live concert on the lawns of Federation Mall outside Parliament House, Canberra.
"My wife Eileen and son Jarvis are both Australian Citizens and this was why we decided we wanted to make this brilliant country our home. Becoming a citizen is completing that process for me. I so want to embrace all the values this country stands for and really commit to be being part of it," says Damien.

Damien has just returned from his Christmas break in Ireland, where his single 'Night Of My Life' hit stores last week, and has gone straight into the studio to start working on his debut studio album, set for release around mid '07.
