The annual ARIA #1 Chart Awards were held on Thursday at Sydney's Doltone House and leading the pack for Aussie chart-topping acts were TV Rock, Something For Kate, Kate DeAraguo, Lee Harding, and Johnny Farnham, who each walked away with an award while Damien Leith and Human Nature each scored twice! Congrats to all.

Last Thursday, February 22 saw the sixth annual ARIA #1 Chart Awards presented to a host of Australia's best talent whose singles, albums and DVDs had made it to the top of the Australian record charts.

"The top charting success of these artists deserves to be celebrated. It also highlights how much enjoyment Australian artists bring to the public as well as the vast array of excellent talent we have in Australia," said ARIA chairman Denis Handlin.

Between December 1 2005 and December 31 2006, a total of 30 singles and 39 albums by Australian artists surfaced within the top 10 on the ARIA National charts, and only 14 walked away with awards.

Up there for the first time was your favourite Idol Damien Leith whose debut single 'Night Of My Life' and CD/DVD 'The Winner's Journey' both hit #1 earning him two gongs.

Human Nature also scored twice for their chart-topping albums 'Reach Out: The Motown Record' and follow-up album 'Dancing In The Streets' - each of which enjoyed phenomenal success in the past year.

Something For Kate scored a coveted award for their latest album 'Desert Lights', while in the singles department, Kate DeAraguo's 'Maybe Tonight', Lee Harding's 'Wasabi' and TV Rock's smash single 'Flaunt It' took out the honours.

John Farnham also won an award for his DVD 'Farnham with The Sydney Symphony at the Sydney Opera House'.

Congrats to everyone for a great achievement!
